Our Mission

Avenue Family Center is a Christian not-for-profit that is actively pursuing one goal. We are trying to break the cycle of poverty in Michigan City by focusing on children and youth, equipping them mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually to succeed in life so that the cycle of poverty ends with them.

Joshua Moran, Director

Moran

Joshua is a district licensed minister in the Church of the Nazarene, serving as associate Pastor at Avenue Family Church of the Nazarene, a church plant in Michigan City. His primary responsibility there is leading Avenue Family Center.

He was born and raised in Elkhart, Indiana, where he graduated from Elkhart Central High School in 2003. He then went straight to Olivet Nazarene University where he began as a political science major before being called by God into full time vocational ministry. While at Olivet, he helped plan and develop the church plant that became known as Avenue Family in Michigan City. He interned at Shepherd Community Center directly under Jay Height during the summer of 2006. In 2008, Joshua graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies. Two weeks later he married Susan, and they had a son in June 2013.

Joshua and his wife moved to Michigan City in 2009 so he could assume his role as director of Avenue Family Center.
